The Journal Diaries- Ann-Mari's Art Journal

The Journal Diaries is a blog segment where we get a sneak peek into the journals, notebooks, organizers, and diaries from people all over the world. (Click here for past posts.) My special guest today is Ann-Mari from Norway.

I love to paint and draw. And I keep reminding myself that sometimes the creative process is as important as the result. Creating helps me to stay focused in the everyday life.

A new set of markers and a sketchbook can inspire me. And coffee. It's also amazing to see what other people create, and how their art journals are. There are so many different styles and approaches to it. I love it. Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube are full of creative ideas.

I use many different techniques in my art journals and mixed media is my favorite. My art journals are filled with collages. I often use white acrylic paint over the pages; it makes them look interesting with many layers of colors, collages and stamping. I love creating the different layers and textures. Usually I don't have a plan when I start on a blank page. So it's always interesting to see the finished result. My "must have" supplies are acrylic paint, inkpad, washi tape, stamps and different types of paper.
